Ah, this is a very good thing for film lovers! I had used its third edition (got it in 2004, I think, in Thailand) and been using its fourth edition (bought from amazon.cn a couple of years ago). The author writes biographies of actors, actresses, directors, producers, etc. with a very distinctive personal style, very readable to higher-level English readers, usually in a critical manner, sometimes very interestingly biased and with a more or less acidic tone! Anyway, the wording is quite different from a common dictionary or encyclopedia, i.e. not in an neutral way. |
