I have never encountered this problem. I think, the options of MdxBuilding should look like this:

please check the strip key option
without it, it may not cause any problems and inconvenience for GoldenDict or MDict
but for BlueDict, it does lead to sorting problems where the headword with punctuations will duplicate itself and mess the whole thing up
and for the original poster, it looks like those characters are not supported by MDict
I seem to recall just recently Rayman was testing something related to French or German characters, and certainly he's published a newer MdxBuilder in QQ group. perhaps you should test it.
