编辑：做了点考古，大概明白了。前身 Century 里就没收，Webster 到 1913 版也没收。OED 2 里收了，但仍然表示是 testimony 的误用，不知 OED 3 怎么想。

你看他之前帖子就知道这是个什么货色了。捡了个正规词典不要的俚语就大言不惭来显摆，没人捧场就恼羞成怒。

有些货色忘记了自己的说过什么廢话，听到别人故意重复出来时竟然会fly off the handle，I get such a kick out of lampooning them.

testament = testimony，是误用，在历史上是一定的。直接原因可能是这两个词的拉丁来源不一样。

但误用也是有原因的，可能的原因是这两个词的印欧词根一致。(*) 打断骨头连着筋。

PS: OED对此区别是重视的。

形近字串用很常见，同根只是巧合。OED 2 对我来说已经给出了完美的答案，我还不至于像某条疯狗般随便就自以为比编者高明。只是这标签显然已经不合时宜，所以想知道 OED 3 会怎么说。
