Variable Nouns.
Many nouns can have countable use in some contexts and uncountable use in other contexts. When used as uncount nouns, they refer to abstract things such as democracy and truth. When used as count nouns, they refer to individual instances of that thing (thus use of the indefinite article a or an is possible).
可变名词既包括可数,也包括不可数,可数时,还有单复数形式。
