Chambers Dictionary of Literary Characters
Updated: 19/01/2019]

A lot of improvements have been made (both mdx and css).
I updated the mdx and css almost 10 months ago, but didn't get the time to update the thread. Now here it is, a polished version... Don't get confused with the Dates in the thread and in the file.

Finally, I've completed this interesting dictionary. Actually this is the first mdx I've made myself.

If any mistake is found within the entries/mdx please inform me.

This dictionary is for those who want to know the characters from different works in English literature.

N.B. Search with the last name of a character.

This new edition of Chambers Dictionary of Literary Characters has been revised and expanded to bring it thoroughly up to date. More than 6,500 entries provide a guide to the wealth of characters created by writers in English — from The Wife of Bath to Bertie Wooster, from Tom Sawyer to Harry Potter.

应该是css的问题，我在goldendict中用楼主和 eeshu 兄的版本都没有样式；

我新建了一个 css 文档，把样式表的内容拷贝过去再保存就可以正常显示了。

beautiful. but what font is needed for that square sign?
could you rebuild the dictionary with maxbuilder v3.0?
dictionaries built in 4.0 version cannot be exported.

It needs Times New Roman in my system. The dictionary is built with MDXBuilder 3.0.

I don't know if it is compatible with GoldenDict. I use MDict both on my PC and Android. I don't have enough idea about GoldenDict. May some GoldenDict experts can resolve this problem...

ur, then there must be something wrong with the setting of the font. but since i can't export the files, i can't see what the problem is. can you please leave the orginial text file as an attachment here?

it seems that you are using the typesetting from the old post. Please, download the attachment from this post. Maybe it will be helpful.

yes, i'm using the old css file, because the new package simply doesn't work. and i can't have the data exported.

the typesetting should be able to take effect this time. but i've got no idea what fonts those cute characters use, so i leave them as they are.
