I have lived and studied in the United States for over 8 years and here are some of my comments :
1. it is very hard to measure one’s vocabulary and it is basically pointless to brag about how many words a person knows.
2. the SAT has 3 parts and when I took it the perfect score was 2400, and now it’s 1600? I saw this fact in the official test guide somewhere, that if you want to be able to score high in the reading part you need to know about 12000 to 15000 words which is way over 7k or 8k ( the number provided by some of the experts in this forum)
3. please ignore my spelling and punctuation errors in this comment because it’s in a hurry and I really do not want to proof read what I say here |
