韦氏高阶是一本很狡猾/聪明的词典,喜欢玩对称、平行

reprimand

: to speak in an angry and critical way to (someone who has done something wrong, disobeyed an order, etc.)训斥;斥责

— often + for
She was reprimanded for being late.
她因迟到被训了一顿。
The boss reprimanded us for talking too much.
老板训斥我们闲聊太多。
rebuke

: to speak in an angry and critical way to (someone)斥责;怒斥;训斥 — often + for
She was rebuked [=reprimanded] for being late.
她因迟到受到了斥责。
The boss rebuked us for talking too much.
老板训斥我们话太多了。


这俩词不仅解释大同小异,连例句都是一个妈生出来的!当然是编者有意安排的

可惜双解版译者有所疏忽,reprimand下头说「老板训斥我们闲聊太多。」翻译不当,何以见得talk 非得是「闲」聊呢?rebuke下面那个「话太多了」才正确。
