请注意文中这句，
The writer of the song, however, the composer Juan de Dios Filiberto, was inspired to write the song by the brightly colored Caminito in La Boca, and put Filiberto’s poem to music.

根据这段话的前半部分，这里应该是put Gabino Coria Penaloza's poem to music, 因为Filiberto是作曲者，并不是歌词的作者啊。

楼主是对的，诗歌是一个人，其中提到的巷子是一个，但是，作曲者谱曲时，灵感来自另外一个巷子。

探戈caminito的歌词来自诗人Gabino Coria Penaloza的poem，作曲者Juan De Dios Filiberto。我觉得楼主是正确的，应该是 the composer Juan de Dios Filiberto put Penaloza’s poem to music.
