They've got this kit, why according to analysts such as yourself, are they performing so badly on the ground?
They seem to have appalling logistics; they didn't give their operational commanders more than a few hours' warning that they would transitioning from what was supposed to be an exercise to combating, invading Ukraine, so no one had planned. And then their logistics haven't been capable of of making up for the complete chaos that resulted as (since) their units running out of fuel, running out of their ammunition, people leaving their vehicles, and then getting jammed up on those roads, particularly in the north. And also just the morale: the troops weren't told they were going to war, and they don't understand why they're suddenly being asked to kill Ukrainians who were supposed to welcome them as far as they were concerned, and who in many cases speak Russian and are calling them Fascist and telling them to go home.

But do you think we're at a turning point where they're using these missiles and we know they're bringing in mercenaries from places like Syria?
本帖隐藏的内容I think the use of hypersonic missiles, for example, may indicate that Russia is keen to be seen to escalate further to change the narratives that it's losing. But I think it's probably more of a sign of desperation, that that they don't have any viable options on the ground, and with the mercenaries coming in, I mean, this is sort of "scraping the barrel" in terms of manpower that they can push in. These are troops who will not be in any way used to the conditions. They don't speak the local language; they have no motivation beyond being paid. In this case I think it's more of a sign of Russian desperation than anything else.
